There are a number of state, independent and Catholic primary and secondary schools located in the region. TAFE East Coast is the largest VET provider in the Hervey Bay and Fraser Coast area, delivering a variety of courses across five campuses in the region.

There are two universities in this region offering highly respected education – the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) and CQUniversity (CQU).
