Executive Dean's Scholars Program (Education)

You must: be currently enrolled full-time in: ED59 Bachelor of Education (Secondary) ED49 Bachelor of Education (Primary) ED39 Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) have completed three years equivalent study (288 credit points) have a grade point average (GPA) of 6.5 or higher across your whole course have passed every semester of study from commencement.

  • Value of scholarship You'll receive: recognition in the form of a certificate and Executive Dean's letter; book voucher to the value of AUD $100; access to the Library's Researchers' Centre; invitation to Faculty of Education Research seminars and events; end of year STAR Awards presentation ceremony. Felicity Purcell Nursing Bursary

Friends of Good Schooling (FRoGS) Merit and Equity Based Scholarships

FRoGS scholarships-mentorships are open to competition among candidates who: are Australian citizens and residents of Queensland; are enrolled as full-time internal students at JCU's Townsville campus in an undergraduate teacher education program approved by the SMC;  have achieved Queensland overall position [OP] university entrance scores 1-11, or the equivalent;  have homes so far from the nearest university that daily travel for full-time internal study is impracticable;                                                                           clearly describe and provide documentary evidence of their financial need; and have lodged through applications for the Australian Department of Human Services/Centrelink Youth Allowance/Austudy/Abstudy and have received hard copy approvals/rejections, or have official decisions pending. [Careful observance of this clause should ensure that awardees receive the maximum total (FRoGS + government) financial assistance.]

Global Linkages Scholarships

The Global Linkages Program provides our students with the opportunity to complete one to two weeks of practicum placement overseas. Under the supervision of a lead trainer, students are provided with the opportunity to work in children's services, elder care, disability and community service projects across the Indo-Asian region. A Global Linkages Scholarship covers: Return economy flights from Brisbane Accommodation Internal Transfers Visas Meals in country Travel Insurance A student contribution fee is applicable for the Global Linkages Scholarship Program. The contribution fee will depend on the Global Linkages country of choice.
