Irene is from the Philippines and is studying a Masters in Business Administration and International Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Irene wants to be part of the Queensland Student Advisory Panel to build connections with local people and other international students. She is keen to take part and share ideas on the programs for both domestic and international students and hopes to improve her ability and work skills and connect with new mentors.
Irene is excited that being on the student advisory panel will give her an opportunity to meet different people from different cultures and open her to Australian work cultures as she plans to launch her career here. Irene will also use this privilege to speak out about the concerns and issues facing international students. She hopes to address these and create solutions and connections for international students.
Irene choose to study in Queensland as she knew a few people from her home country who had studied and are currently working here in the region and the weather is similar to the Philippines. Irene has been studying full-time in Queensland just over a year and loves the work-life balance in the community and how the university supports international students.
