Associate Degree of Applied Social Science

The Associate Degree of Applied Social Science provides a foundational understanding of individuals, groups and social structures, and offers a broad grounding in sociological theory, social systems and social policy. The Associate Degree incorporates the main theoretical components of the Bachelor of Applied Social Science degree, and maintains an applied focus in the development of counseling or coaching skills.
To complete the Associate Degree of Applied Social Science you must successfully complete 16 units (six Social Science units, three core Professional Practice units, three core units from the Applied Psychology minor strand; two units from the minor strand in either Counseling or Coaching, and two elective units). The Associate Degree comprises the first two years of the Bachelor of Applied Social Science.
