The Durack campus is built on 30 acres of land which allows us to build classroom buildings well away from the hustle and bustle of roads. The adjoining environment park at the rear of the property enhances the serenity, peace and quiet of the Durack Campus. The Durack Campus today offers a curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12. The 30 acre site at Durack has enabled us to build sports grounds and provides ample space to build the college mosque, student hostel and provide ample parking space. A Federal Government grant has helped the school to establish a well equipped multipurpose hall incorporating indoor sporting facilities. The Multipurpose Hall has been built with a commercial kitchen with a big storage room and a cold room and a full size stage with professional sound and lighting system to stage school plays and accommodate local community functions. Blackheath and Thornburgh College

Independent School

Since Reverend Bacon's foundation of Thornburgh College in 1919 and Blackheath one year later, the College has almost always been always been a co-educational College and in fact, was one of the early co-educational boarding schools in Queensland. Originally founded as a Methodist and Presbyterian boarding school, and under the motto 'Sine Domino Frustra' – Without God All Is In Vain', the College became a non-denominational College embracing Christian values in 1978, and since then has been governed by a Board of Directors, with an active Foundation, Association, Past Student Association (the BPSA) and Parents & Friends Association. Much of the original infrastructure still remains – in particular Thornburgh House, which has served a variety of purposes from boys' dormitory, to classrooms and most recently, administration. Throughout our rich history, we have held firm to the values of family and 'mateship', building a strong sense of fair play and respect in generations of students. We strive to continue this as we welcome new students through our historic gates and into our environment. The college holds an extensive range of historic records, articles and artifacts, most of which are being digitized and will be available in our online Archives section soon.

As one of the first Christian schools established in Queensland, Brisbane Christian College has a long and successful tradition in developing graduates with self-discipline, a zest for life and a strong moral compass. Brisbane Christian College is a wonderfully diverse community with a range of cultures, Christian denominations and other faith backgrounds represented. Our families select Brisbane Christian College because of its holistic, student-focused approach to learning, strong family values, nurturing environment and the outstanding behaviour of students. In an era when many schools are large and therefore impersonal, Brisbane Christian College is small enough for students to be known by name, yet large enough to provide high-tech facilities and robust academic and co-curricular programs. Brisbane Christian College offers an academically strong, spiritually rich and personally rewarding experience for all Pre-Prep, Primary and High School students as they travel confidently towards a great tomorrow. Brisbane Christian College's academic and co-curricular programs complement the College's goal to develop students' critical thinking and Christian values in a modern, nurturing environment. This combination of well-taught core and elective subjects, as well the encouragement to participate in camps, music, sport, debating and competitions, leads to the personal, confident leadership essential for productive growth and success.
