Alistair is from Hong Kong and is studying a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook university in Townsville.
Joining the Queensland Student Advisory Panel is a platform for Alistair to advocate on international student experiences, which is something that he has been passionately doing for the past two years as a student leader and Vice President of the International Student Association at James Cook University in Townsville.
Alistair brings to the student advisory panel his knowledge and experience as an international student leader in regional Queensland including his experiences during placement, research and knowledge on international student mental health as a medical student, his role as a global citizen and the experiences of other international students through supporting them.
Having experienced world-class education, training and research firsthand in regional Queensland, he sees numerous potentials for Queensland’s international education. He aims to improve global engagement in research, quality student support especially on mental health and education experiences in regional Queensland.
Alistair choose Queensland for its natural beauty, opportunities for tropical medicine research and internship. And after three years of studying here, he has enjoyed the unique Queensland culture.
