Rohan is from India and is studying a Bachelor of Business at Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast.
Rohan wants to be a voice for International students and provide them with knowledge and support they need to successfully study abroad both academically, socially, financially and emotionally.
Rohan has highlighted that living away from one’s native home and native language is hard and the process of adjusting to a new environment is difficult at times as well. He will advise the student panel the risk factors and barriers against international student as he has experienced some of them personally. He would also love to have the opportunity to help educate students on how to best protect themselves to ensure their success. Rohan sees the Queensland Student Advisory Panel as a great privilege and opportunity to give back to his community and provide input on what the major areas Queensland should focus on.
Rohan has also participated in the Mayor’s student ambassador programme on the Gold Coast.
When applying for universities in Australia, Rohan had a clear path to apply in Queensland. The affordability of the universities was one of the main reasons why he chooses Queensland and the support students got here was second to none. Studying in Queensland has been an amazing journey for Rohan, and he has loved every part of it.
